SL Alimentos
welcomes students for an art workshop in Mauá da Serra - Paraná
Initiative is part of the “Raízes” project and promotes a
connection between art, education, and industry
Approximately 40 children from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades
at Sandra Maria Municipal School, in Mauá da Serra (Paraná), were welcomed on
Friday, May 8, at the headquarters of SL Alimentos for a workshop with visual
artist Thiago Vilela. The students are part of the “Arte Por Toda Parte”
project, supported by SL in the municipality’s public schools, in partnership
with the municipal departments of Education, Tourism, and Culture, as well as
the Arte Por Toda Parte Institute.
The event, which began at 9:30 a.m., was part of a broader
SL project called “Raízes” (“Roots”), whose narrative follows the company’s
journey and conveys the strength of shared growth between the corporate world
and the community. Activities for the “Raízes” project began in late March with
a graffiti painting of an oat branch — the company’s raw material — on one of
the faces and sides of SL’s new mill, which is just over 40 meters tall. The
artistic expression represents the field-city connection.
The children participating in Arte Por Toda Parte visited
the company’s industrial site, located at km 289 of Rodovia do Café. They then
went to the training center, where they listened to artist Thiago speak about
graphic art, techniques, and processes used to create the artwork on the mill,
which is part of the expansion of the manufacturing unit, launched in 2024 and
expected to significantly increase the company’s production capacity.
The visit by the students from Sandra Maria Municipal
School concluded with a workshop near the graffitied mill. The children
received canvases, brushes, and paints, materials needed for them to reproduce
and express their points of view about the art on the mill on their own
canvases, guided by Thiago and the school’s educators.
“Arte Por Toda Parte”
Project
The Arte Por Toda Parte Project began in 2023 in Mauá da
Serra, a municipality in Northern Paraná and an important hub for oat
cultivation. In the city, it has the support of SL Alimentos and has already
served around one thousand students from the Maria Baueb (2023), Yukio Uemura
(2024), Paulo Haruo Sato (2025), and Sandra Maria (2023 and 2026) municipal
schools, as well as Apae (2024).
The Arte Por Toda Parte Institute has promoted access to
culture and art education for children, adolescents, and adults with special
needs in diverse social contexts through the Federal Culture Incentive Law.
According to the project’s founder, visual artist Patrícia Muniz, more than
3,000 art workshops have already been held in eight Brazilian states, directly
benefiting more than 26,000 children and adolescents. The project was awarded
by UNESCO in 2016.
