13 de February, 2025
In a move set to boost the local economy and create new jobs, the Certano and SL Alimentos groups have announced the acquisition of General Mills' industrial plant in Cambará, located in Paraná’s Northern Pioneer region. The facility, previously operated by General Mills, was decommissioned in December 2023 as part of the multinational’s strategy to restructure its operations in the country.
This acquisition reinforces the companies' commitment to the state, which houses the main production units of both businesses. The Certano Group, with over 50 years of history in Cambará, is headquartered in the municipality and stands out in the manufacturing and distribution of food products, as well as personal hygiene and cleaning items. Its diversified portfolio includes products such as special refined sugar, crystal sugar, and extra-strong roasted and ground coffee.
Meanwhile, SL Alimentos is currently the leading oat industry in Latin America. Operating in the states of Paraná, São Paulo, and Pernambuco, it is a reference in solutions for human food and animal nutrition. Its portfolio includes whole foods, plant-based, and clean label products, offering cutting-edge technology for healthy, sustainable, and indulgent product lines in the segments of oats, protein cereals, pulses, flours, extruded products, baby food, proteins, and plant-based beverages.
With this acquisition, Certano and SL Alimentos are accelerating the implementation of their expansion and internationalization strategies, driving business growth, generating jobs, and strengthening the economic development of the city and the entire region.
